The Latino community at Northeastern University is a familia (family) of students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends. While our primary mission is the academic success of our students, we are equally focused on providing a culturally and socially enriching environment for all.

 Northeastern University's Latino/a Student Cultural Center wins 2008 NASPA Region 1 New England Latino Student Leadership Conference bid!

Northeastern University’s Latino/a Student Cultural Center has won the bid to hold the 6th Annual National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Region 1 New England Latino Student Leadership Conference (NELSLC) in 2008.  The purpose of the NELSLC is to foster networking connections among Latino student college leaders within the New England region. NELSLC will be held on the Northeastern University campus on March 28-29, 2008 at the Curry Student Center.  In attending, conference participants can expect a day and a half of sharing new ideas, developing new leadership skills for college and beyond, global capacity building and networking with old and new Latino leaders in a variety of interest areas.  The theme of this conference is:  Pa’lante: Empowering Latino/a Leaders of Tomorrow in an Increasingly Global Environment.

LSCC Celebrating 10 Years!

This October marked the 10 Year Anniversary of the LSCC!
Ten years ago, a group of visionary Latino/a students, faculty, staff and administrators with a dream of creating a Center in which people could come together and share their academic struggles and achievements, as well as their culture, came together to establish what is now known as the Latino/a Student Cultural Center. This evening included awards ceremony, dinner, and dancing.

Several events were held to celebrate this momentous occasion:  

  • 10th Anniversary Beautification Day- October 25th, 2007, 3PM-5PM
  • 10th Anniversary Time Capsule Unveiling - October 26th, 2007, 12PM-3PM 
  • 10th Anniversary Gala Celebration - October 27th, 2007, 6PM-12AM
